Discerning the World

A Genuine Christian Blog for Genuine Chrsitians

About/Rules of Engagement

babyelephant3Thanks for dropping by!    This is Discerning the World III, a site dedicated to truth and discerning things online (indeed, the entire world) which cannot be detected, and will not be detected, face to face.  Why the number 3?  Well, number one is too arrogant and we are anything but that. And it came to our attention during an intense discernment period that the number 2 is not fitting for any blog that claims to be genuinely Christian.  Two is a number that reminds us of the followers going 2 by 2  into the ark.   We refuse to be thought of as just another ass following suit.  If anything we are leading the charge in the war against truth!

Therefore we decided our name would be Discerning the World THREE.   Three is, after all, biblical.  Noah had 3 sons (Shem, Ham and Japheth), Joseph had a dream of three baskets, Aaron was eighty-THREE and he and Moses spoke with Pharaoh, total darkness covered Egypt for 3 days in one of the plagues, women are to wait 33 days to be purified from their bleeding before they touch anything sacred, Balaam’s donkey complained of being beaten 3 times, King Saul had 3 sons, Samson “performed” in front of 3 thousand Philistines in his final act, Job had 3 daughters, Peter disowned Jesus 3 times and of course, the greatest reason we find the number 3 to be more biblical than the number 2 is because of the 3 greatest things.  But to know that you have to turn to 1 Corinthians 13:13 (more 3’s!).

Rules of Engagement

Make no bones about it people, we are at war.  You have entered a war zone.   And wars have rules.

  • Editor’s note:   It occurred to us in a discernment camp meeting that listing rules may require us to abide by them.   We cannot have that, as I am sure you can understand.   Therefore, the rules will be kept confidential so that liars, fornicators, thieves and bakers cannot twist, distort or decorate them.  This also gives us the much needed flexibility to act in our interests, protecting our truth [EDITED:  please disregard last statement.  That was meant to read “God’s truth” ].
  • These rules are subject to change at the blog owner’s discretion.
  • If you have a question about what is allowed on this blog please see rule #1.

  1. Welcome to the 3rd dimension of Truth – Our Truth. You are so right, DTW, 3 is better than 2. We will fight this Truth War by any means to our disposal, smoke out the E-mergents and burn them at the Blog Stake while spreading the fear of a One World Religion. If you have to lie to protect our Truth do it with the confidence that it is a True lie but never ever drink coffee because that will be an E-merging compromise. 3 lies are better than 2 lies is better than 1 lie when defending our Truth.

    • We do not serve a God of confusion, Iggy. Genuine Christians are not confused – ever.

  5. Iggy,

You know what else a true Christian would never do? Talk about folks anonymously on the internet whether their targets are “christian” or not…….

Somehow I don’t think this is what Paul had in mind when he was talking about spiritual warfare in Ephesians 6:10-20 or anywhere else for that matter……..

Stay confused Iggy……it certainly beats having to be anonymous on the ‘net…….

  6. Phil, telling someone to “stay confused” means you along with Iggy are obviously caught up in the New Age cult.

If you received the sort of death threats we get here for telling the truth you might think about anonymity as well.

    • Hi,

If you would even think for a second I’m caught up in some “new age cult” then you really should remain anonymous because your research leaves something to be desired….

I’ve actually had some real personal encounters with folks who don’t like what I have to say…….that’s part of the deal…..small potatoes when you think of how many are martyred daily worldwide……the Apostles certainly didn’t have it easy either……..nor did Christ…..personally speaking I’d rather die for the Gospel then hide behind some anonymous moniker….

      • Phil Nuisance,

I see you speak of “personal encounters with folk”. Mmmm… That sounds like Transcendental Meditation – more proof that you are indeed in a New Age cult. That is NOT part of our “deal” here. My mother makes the most deliciousest small potatoes. I’m hungry… Where was I? Uhm… … … … …

I can’t remeber what I was going to write. See, you came here with your demonic TM and stole my train of thought! Phil, I declare you as evil!

  7. Deborah,

I get attacked by people like you all the time… those who see a link or two and assume I agree totally with them. I am sure you have read a book by a great preacher and not agreed with them totally before.. if not the saying goes… it two agree on everything one is not necessary.

Now there are essential doctrines we should agree on, yet there are many non essentials we can discuss and debate and in the end only God knows for sure.

To say imply that since you get death threats means you are doing God’s work… misses that you are lying and slandering many people… that is not God’s work that is just stupid.

I too have had major threats against me by people like you. They have lied about me saying all sorts of horrible things. They attack my church and even my family. I have had stalkers send “packages” to my pastor and on and on… yet, God has protected my family and me.

I do not look at those who hate me to show how much God loves me, I look at what God is doing in my life and others around me to see that. SO I would recommend you do that also. If you see hate everywhere… then that is what you are focusing on… hate… I see Jesus doing His work everywhere… why, I focus on Jesus.

  8. Iggy’s proverb: it two agree on everything one is not necessary.

I prefer this proverb: A bush in the hand is worth more birds in the pond.

There is nothing non-essential about God, Iggy. All of it is essentially essential. If one thing is not essential than it is all not essential. What is essential for you is to heed our words and simply obey. Of course, that is not always easy to do because obeying requires humility, something you appear to essentially lack.

    turn to the truth, Iggy.

  9. I’m concerned with the falsehood of evolution that has come to light in using the number 3.

Attempts to recognize tripartite patterns in human evolution were somewhat popular in the early-mid 20th century. Today, with new knowledge about the fossil record and phylogeny, they are all but refuted. However, one must wonder why there ever was a recurring predilection for a tripartite organization instead of some other pattern, whether or not a specific enumerative identity (such as the “three”) presented itself.

With the realization that the Bonobo represents another and very distinct chimpanzee, humans are instead being referred to as “third chimpanzee”, as among living creatures they are most similar to the Bonobo and Common Chimp.

3 distinct species of the genus Homo:
    1. Homo habilis “capable man”
    2. Homo erectus “upright man”
    3. Homo sapiens “wise man”

Many additional species are now known.

3 distinct species of the genus Paranthropus:
    1. Paranthropus robustus
    2. Paranthropus boisei
    3. Paranthropus aethiopicus
The validity of Paranthropus is possible, but has never been unequivocally proven.

    3 Proconsul species:
    1. Proconsul africanus
    2. Proconsul major
    3. Proconsul nyanzae
    P. heseloni has been described since. The genus Proconsul might not be an ape.

    3 Pan troglodytes sub-species:
    1. Pan troglodytes schweinfurthii (Eastern Common Chimpanzee)
    2. Pan troglodytes troglodytes (Central Common Chimp)
    3. Pan troglodytes verus (Western Common Chimp)
    P. t. vellerosus has been described since.

    3 types of primates:
    1. Prosimians
    2. Monkeys (old & new world)
    3. Apes (lesser & greater apes, as well as humans)
Old World and New World monkeys are not a natural group.

3 social group types of the Great Apes:
    1. Orangutans (Solitary – little amount of both sexes)
    2. Gorillas (Harems – great amount o )
    3. Common Chimps (Live in territories defended by related males – great amount of both sexes)

Bonobos represent a fourth type of social structure, with equal sex ratio but unique hierarchy.

    Three traditional families of hominoid:
    1. Hylobatidae- include the so-called lesser apes of Asia, the gibbons and siamangs.
    2. Hominidae- include living humans and typically fossil apes that possess a suite of characteristics such as bipedalism, reduced canine size, and increasing brain size such as the australopithecines.
    3. Pongidae- include the remaining African great apes including gorillas, chimpanzees, and the Asian orangutan.

I fear that you have some emergent traits by using the no.3!!

  11. And don’t forget that the 12 apostles were also 3… ora can be reduced to three groups of 4… well, we discermentalists make science and math work on our way.
